Ashanty was created to empower individuals seeking a platform to express their innate creative talent through fashion and design. Founded in 2012 by Love Yirenkyi-Amoa, Ashanty began as a small, independently owned business driven by passion, creativity, and a deep appreciation for African design. Over the years, it has grown steadily and now proudly operates a branch in the southern part of Johannesburg.

The Ashanty Creativity Training Center – Designs and Training School is the newest addition to the Ashanty brand. This initiative is dedicated to training and producing skilled tailors and fashion designers for the African fashion industry, with a strong focus on craftsmanship, cultural expression, and practical skills. Our goal is to equip students with the knowledge and experience needed to thrive in fashion design, tailoring, pattern making, and garment construction.

Our long-term vision is to build a top-notch African fashion and design training centre, supported by highly experienced professionals with extensive knowledge of African designs and textiles. While we remain grounded in our humble beginnings, we are intentional and proactive in growing Ashanty Creativity Training Center into a strong, sustainable, and dedicated fashion education institution.

Through this blog, we hope to inspire, educate, and encourage others—especially aspiring designers and tailors—to pursue their creative dreams and contribute meaningfully to the growth of the African fashion industry.
